I started playing guitar at age 9. I played in local bands in Baltimore Maryland for many years & we started playing more & more gigs, i needed to add to my collection of guitars, i did'nt have alot of money back in those days & i always enjoyed working with wood. I had been working in a custom cabinet shop as an apprentice cabinetmaker, so i did research on guitar building. I started designing my own custom bodys, with hardware & other parts i had laying around, i built up my collection. With my love for music, & woodworking i found what i really enjoy doing. It's great feeling knowing that you can enjoy many years of playing music on something you've created yourself. Don't ever stop playing music!

While living in Key West, Florida . Dave noticed that most musicians were playing acoustic guitars and that solid bodied electric guitars were hard to come by, so He decided to build his own! Key West Guitars were born! Dave being a Maryland Native decided to move back north, where He continues to handcraft his beautiful custom guitars
